FHLL Sponsor Chair Volunteer Needed

Dear FHLL Families:

I am sending this out to the entire Fountain Hills Little League community because we are in need of your help. Our Casino Night chairperson unexpectedly resigned in late December and we must now find somebody to head up this key fundraiser.

Casino Night nets us between $5,000 and $10,000 annually. It’s also a fun and entertaining social event for the parents in our community. Through monies raised at Casino Night, we are able to have the lowest registration fee for any youth sport in town. It also helps fund vital things such as equipment, scholarships and the annual picnic.

None of our existing board members can take on the additional responsibility of the Casino Night chair at this point, because all of them are already committed to other chair responsibilities (sponsorships, snack bar, registration, etc).

Bottom line, we need someone to head this up. More than likely we can get a few other people to assist the chair. A committee situation would be ideal -- covering such things as planning, solicitation of donations, administration on the night of the event, etc, etc. Taking the chair would also mean being on the board and attending monthly meetings.

If we cannot find a Casino Night chair, we will have no choice but to cancel the fundraiser and offset expenses in the budget to account for the shortfall of income that Casino Night yields us.

Early Registration

Yes it is time to start signing up for Fountain Hills Little League.

F.H. Little League will be conducting early registration Saturday, December 6th, 9 a.m. - 12 noon at Golden Eagle Park (near snack bar). You may also register on-line at http://www.fhllaz.com/ by Midnight, December 14th. Discount fees apply for early registration. New players must bring original or certified copy of birth certificate and 3 proofs of residency; (current address on drivers license, vehicle registration, insurance card, utility bills).

Registration Complete Season is Upon Us

The last registration was held on Saturday 1/26/08. FHLL used online registration for the first time this year and it was very successful. Around 50% of the registrations were done on-line. We are currently at 300 kids which is the same amount as last year. This is great since we have lost 30 plus kids in each of the last two years. For late registration please see the web site. You may be put on a waiting list.

Evaluations for 9-12 year old's are being held on the next two Saturdays, 2/2 and 2/9. The Managers Meeting is Sunday 2/17, so managers will be contacting their teams by 2/18. If you do not here from your manager by then please contact me at rszwiec@cox.net.

It is hard to believe a month from now that practices will be started. I am looking forward to another great season. I invite you all to come down to the fields once the games start. There is something special about being down at the fields on game night in FHLL. It is not just about the kids playing baseball, it is a truly a family atmosphere.
